Anastasija Živković defended her European champion title in the air rifle event for competitors under 18 and led our team in this discipline to team gold. Last year as well, at the European Championships in Tallinn, Serbia finished first as a team.
They thus continued a streak that was opened earlier in the day by Lena Ristić’s victory in the Solo pistol event for cadet girls.
In the classic disciplines at the European Championships for shooters under 16 and 18, there are no finals; the rankings are determined after 40 shots in the qualification round.
Anastasija Živković won the gold by scoring 420.2 points, as many as 1.1 more than second-placed Bulgarian Tončeva. Srna Aranđelović finished in 11th place, and our third representative, Sofija Adamović, also placed very high, taking 15th place among 56 competitors.
Anastasija, Srna and Sofija totaled 1,249.7 points, thereby improving the European record that Serbia set last year in Tallinn (1,248.0). The second-placed team, composed of independent competitors (Russia), trailed by more than three points.
