The arrest of 15 close associates of former Niš mayor Dragana Sotirovski is currently underway, continuing the anti-corruption operation conducted by members of the Criminal Police Directorate (UKP) under the order of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Niš, Blic reports.
Numerous former and current city officials are being targeted by the police on suspicion of abuse of office, which allegedly caused millions in damages to the city budget.

According to Blic’s sources, this is a continuation of the operation that began in Niš on Thursday when former mayor Dragana Sotirovski and three of her associates were arrested.
Sources indicate that this is an extension of the large-scale corruption investigation already launched against Sotirovski and her three associates.
Since this morning, the police have been targeting 15 of her close associates, with collected evidence suggesting their involvement in fraudulent activities.
