Zoran Kopanja from Novi Sad, a mechanical engineer, was awarded gold medals by the Union of Inventors of Serbia and the World Intellectual Property Organization for his invention.

Namely, he constructed a machine that produces phyllo dough for pies and cheese pies (gibanica), and it does so faster and cheaper than any other. These machines are already in several different countries, including America.

The two-stage mechanical oscillator of the famous Novi Sad researcher and innovator Veljko Milković was declared this summer to be one of the ten best inventions in the world. The competition gathered a record number of scientists, researchers, and inventors from all meridians with the aim of unifying creative and innovative initiatives from all over the world. More than 800 inventions from 62 countries were in the running for the awards.

-In addition to the support I already have, which I received from distinguished professors, this award is for all of us who have dealt with it, worked on it, or supported it. This means the award is for a large number of benevolent people – begins Kopanja.

Milković’s two-stage oscillator, as a mechanical amplifier of clean energy, stood out as a technology that can solve the problems of the energy crisis and climate challenges. This simple mechanism was first patented in 1999. It combines a driving pendulum with a lever, whose mutual interaction achieves new mechanical effects and multiplies the invested energy, making it suitable for performing useful work.

-Rotation is considered to be the best thing, and those are turbines, then rotors, gears, cam mechanisms, pulleys, rotary flywheels, etc. Well, now I am proving that the entire energy sector is in a vicious circle of rotations. So that we have much more efficient oscillations, that is, that we have much, much more efficient natural movement. Everything in nature oscillates, both birds and fish, and we oscillate when we walk, meaning all living beings, and our heart is the engine, it oscillates, and we feel those oscillations even in our pulse, meaning natural movement compared to artificial movement. It is even an artificial creation, a great invention, but that does not mean that it is the best for all time and for all occasions – emphasizes the interlocutor of Kurir Television.

Milković is known to the wider public for the concept of the self-heating ecological house.

-I was inspired for this idea by the research of the Petrovaradin Fortress and I saw some phenomena that were very interesting to me, meaning basic old good solutions. In order to be very safe, I observed the microclimate in the underground, which is very stable, very favorable, that very little energy is needed for both cooling and heating, meaning that a relatively stable temperature is maintained, and this house is actually a modern dugout – explains Kopanja.

One of Milković’s great interests has always been the Petrovaradin Fortress. He says that he managed to discover regularities in the underground labyrinths with arrow-shaped Y and Hammer T intersections, which allows him to safely search the fortress and its underground. The Museum of the City of Novi Sad therefore awarded him a certificate of appreciation in 1977 for his unreserved cooperation in the study of the Petrovaradin Fortress. We are heading towards the arrow-shaped intersections.
