Russian attacks damaged two energy facilities in the Chernihiv region in northern Ukraine, leaving nearly 212,000 consumers without electricity, the regional power distribution company “Chernihivoblenergo” announced today.
The company stated that almost 150,000 consumers in the city of Chernihiv and surrounding areas were left without power after a Russian attack damaged an energy facility, and later added that nearly 62,000 consumers lost power in three other districts in the region following an attack on a facility in the Nizhyn district, reports the Reuters agency.
The Ukrainian Air Force announced that Russia launched 147 drones at the country overnight, 121 of which were shot down or neutralized.
Chernihiv has been heavily hit by power outages during the winter, and a similar attack on Saturday left most of the region without electricity.
Nearly 21,000 residents of the city of Slavutych, located in the neighboring Kyiv region, were also temporarily left without power following the morning attack, the regional governor wrote on Telegram.
