The European Democrats party today sent a message to Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić via the social network X, saying that he is not invisible on the radar and that “when a government sends police to a university, it sends a clear message: dissent is not welcome.”
The European Democrats’ tweet was “decorated” with an image of Vučić placed over a photograph of a police intervention in Novi Sad that took place this evening, with a caption underneath, in capital letters: “Vučić, you are not invisible on the radar.”

“In Novi Sad, students and professors protesting the dismissal of Professor Jelena Kleut were forcibly removed from the Faculty of Philosophy,” the accompanying text states, adding: “If Vučić believes he can do whatever he wants in Serbia while international attention is focused elsewhere, he is making a serious mistake.”
The European Democrats wrote that they will continue to stand with Serbian students and citizens.
“And we will keep the spotlight firmly trained on every abuse, every humiliation, every attack on democracy,” the statement concludes.
