The Serbian basketball team will play in a tournament in Munich before the start of the European Championship (from August 27 to September 14). They might have to go without Vasilije Micić. Serbian national team coach Svetislav Pešić spoke about all the health issues and admitted that he is worried.
“We are not in great shape. Smailagić and Trifunović are still not ready to train. We are trying to get Vasa back, but it’s not going according to plan, not how we predicted. Vasa is trying, he’s making an effort, but he’s still in pain. We’ll see, in the next few days, we’ll have to slowly make some decisions, but generally, the other players are fine. This is the time to train and start playing games. We played a tournament in Cyprus and two friendly games without an audience, and now every game means a lot to us. We have trained enough for this period of preparation for the European Championship,” Pešić began.

“We have this tournament here now, the Supercup. An excellent tournament, good teams, and after that, Slovenia is coming to Belgrade on August 21, and that would be it for official games. We continue to train and work. Of course, these injuries worry us. I have to be completely honest, what worries me the most is whether we will be able to count on Micić at all. He is trying, and we are trying to get him back, but it’s a difficult process,” Pešić added.
