A tragedy that shook the entire community occurred in the Blaževo neighborhood of Novi Pazar. A two-year-old boy, found outside in critical condition during the early morning hours, passed away at Novi Pazar General Hospital despite resuscitation attempts. According to initial information, the cause of death of the unfortunate child was hypothermia caused by cold, and the family lived in difficult conditions without basic heating means.
As neighbors told local media, the family of the deceased toddler did not have wood for heating. The cold night and the inability to heat the home were fatal for the two-year-old boy.
“Children were often exposed to cold”
“We heard that the child was not in the house when it was found. The parents said they couldn’t afford to buy wood for winter, and the children were often exposed to the cold. This is a tragedy that deeply affects us all,” said one of the neighbors.
The parents of the unfortunate child have been taken in for questioning to determine the circumstances that led to this great tragedy. According to sources from Sandžak Danas in the police, the family has two other girls who are currently with them, while the older son was previously placed in a home due to poor living conditions.

The police confirmed that an investigation is underway and that the parent’s responsibility for the child’s death will be determined.
The Novi Pazar Health Center confirmed that emergency teams tried to resuscitate the child on the scene before he was taken to the hospital.
The child died after being admitted to the hospital.
Despite their efforts, the boy died shortly after admission.
“All attempts at resuscitation were made in the field and in healthcare institutions, but unfortunately, the child could not be saved,” a medical source told the RINA agency.
The family of the deceased toddler lives in extreme poverty in the Blaževo neighborhood, where many houses lack basic living conditions. Neighbors describe the parents as people who struggled to provide the basics but often failed to meet even the minimal needs of their children.
“We saw that they didn’t even have enough clothes for the children, let alone wood for heating. This is a tragedy that could have been prevented,” says one resident of Blaževo.
The child’s body has been sent for an autopsy, which will officially confirm the cause of death. The police continued the investigation to determine all the circumstances under which the tragedy occurred.
