The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the Prime Minister met with the government, the Minister of Defense, the Chief of Staff of the IDF, and the head of Mossad “to report that Israel has achieved all the goals of Operation Lion Rises, and much more,” reports the “Times of Israel.”
“Israel has removed the dual immediate existential threat – both in the nuclear and ballistic missile domains,” the statement said.
According to the statement, “the IDF has achieved full control over Tehran’s airspace, inflicted heavy losses on the military leadership, and destroyed dozens of key targets of the Iranian government.”
“Israel thanks President Trump and the United States for their support in defense and participation in eliminating the Iranian nuclear threat,” the statement added.
“Given the achievement of the operation’s goals and in full coordination with President Trump, Israel has accepted the President’s proposal for a bilateral ceasefire,” the Prime Minister’s office announced, noting that Israel “will respond strongly to any violation of the truce.”
US President Donald Trump earlier announced that a ceasefire would come into effect, shortly after at least four people were killed when an Iranian ballistic missile hit a residential building in Beersheba.
