Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić stated that the students and citizens participating in the blockades will “continue with violence,” and that the state will “choose the moment when the violence will end.”

Vučić told Pink television that the state authorities in Serbia had behaved towards the participants in the blockades “more democratically than 95 percent or almost all EU and European countries as a whole.”

“None of us rejoice and are not sadists who want to show someone who is stronger with beatings. It is known who is strongest in the state. The state by definition has a monopoly on physical coercion, but it must be democratic. The state must choose the moment, and that moment must be the last, in the application of force. We will wait for the last moment, and we hope that we will never have to use that force,” said the President of Serbia.

He said that he could say “with certainty” that the “colored revolution in Serbia is over.”

“Their chance was on March 15th to have me liquidated. That afternoon, I discovered the plans of some criminal groups, I am not talking about students, who worked together with some state structures. Now I can say with certainty that the colored revolution is over, and it is up to us to return to the path of economic progress as soon as possible,” said Vučić.

He assessed that the multi-day student blockade of the Radio-Television of Serbia building in Belgrade was an “unprecedented crime.”

“Everything they are doing against RTS is an unprecedented crime, and I say this not because I like and respect the work of RTS, on the contrary. To block access to the building for 10 days, to block the exit, so that people cannot get food, and for all of that to be supported by a part of non-governmental organizations and kept silent by many from the outside… From this, you can see whose support they have, because when Aleksandar Vulin and his friends held demonstrations in front of TV N1 for an hour or two, the EU, the OSCE, and every political party immediately spoke out, claiming it was unprecedented pressure,” said Vučić.

He also said that the competent state authorities have “audio and video recordings” of how certain professors are holding exams for foreign students in Serbia from whom, according to him, they are taking money, while they did not even want to hold online classes for domestic students.

“That is for prison and will be for prison. You will see soon what that looks like,” said Vučić.

He dismissed as “another nonsense in a series” the criminal complaint filed by the Democratic Party against unknown persons for the alleged use of a sound cannon at the student protest on March 15th in Belgrade.

“Everyone in Serbia knows that there was no sound cannon. This was also confirmed by the report of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB), they even dealt with what happened and not just what did not happen. This is simply another lie in a series. If I were not the president, I would say that every fool has the right to file a report,” said Vučić.
