The SNS rally in Novi Sad, announced by the President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić, has been canceled. Instead, progressives will gather tomorrow in Belgrade in front of the Parliament at 5 p.m.
The organization of the rally in Belgrade is already underway. Information about quotas and bus departure times is being shared through Viber groups.
Our portal has unofficially confirmed that one group will depart tomorrow at 1 p.m. by bus from Sombor to Belgrade.
Marinika Tepić also spoke about the rally that will be held tomorrow in Belgrade, in front of the Parliament, which today is discussing the voter register and the lex specialis for the General Staff, asking “what is being prepared for Wednesday in front of the Parliament.”
“Instead of removing this paramilitary disgrace Ćacilend and listening to the demands of Dijana Hrka – what are you preparing here on Wednesday at 5 p.m.? What are you cooking up? It is widely known that you are mobilizing loyalists and criminals to fill this den on Wednesday at 5 p.m.,” said the MP.
Dijana Hrka, the mother of Stefan Hrka who died in the collapse of a canopy, began a hunger strike in front of the Parliament on Monday.
Speaking to RTS a few days ago, Vučić announced that government supporters would organize in Novi Sad a “large gathering” about ten days after the commemorative event organized by students to mark the anniversary of the canopy collapse at the Railway Station, in which 16 people were killed and one seriously injured.
“We want to show respect for the victims and to determine responsibility for everything that happened. I am simply sure that, in the end, we will have to sit down and talk,” Vučić said at the time.
To recall, even a year after the tragedy, no one has been held responsible for the collapse of the canopy.
