Nova.rs journalist Ana Marković was attacked at the “Stop, Serbia” protest near the Faculty of Dramatic Arts during a fight between protesters and angry drivers, Nova.rs reports.
As she recounted, during the tribute to the victims in Novi Sad, a fight broke out between the gathered citizens, students, and professors from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, on the one hand, and angry drivers who had to stop and couldn’t pass, the media writes.
Some of them got out of their cars and started fighting with those gathered at the protest. They started insulting and then randomly punching people. As our reporter said, they hit adult men, and several younger girls were also hit.

One of the angry drivers hit the Nova.rs journalist, who was filming the event, with a full force fist in the forearm and knocked her phone onto the concrete.
“People who were paying their respects jumped in to defend me, saying to ‘leave the girl alone’. The gathered people tried to explain to the drivers why they had stopped on the street, but someone started hitting again, so they retreated. Despite the circumstances, none of those present moved from the spot,” said Ana Marković.
Interestingly, a traffic police vehicle was parked about 150 meters away from the scene of the incident, but they did not react.
