The Presidents of Russia and the USA, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, have just exited their planes.

The US leader was the first to step onto the ground of the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, where he welcomed his Russian counterpart on the red carpet, applauding as he approached.

They shook hands, then walked down the red carpet to a stage, where they shook hands again in front of the cameras.

The two leaders then got into “The Beast,” the US president’s special armored car.
