Horrific news is coming from the football world, as international media report that Diogo Jota (28), the well-known Liverpool footballer, has died. The terrible news has been confirmed by multiple sources.
The accident occurred in the province of Zamora, at kilometer 65 of the A-52 highway near the municipality of Palacios de Sanabria. He was in the vehicle with his brother, André (26), and both died at the scene.
The vehicle veered off the road during the accident and was engulfed in flames, which then spread to nearby vegetation.
Diogo Jota had been one of Liverpool’s best footballers since 2020. Last season, he won his first major trophy with the club, the Premier League. For Liverpool, he scored 65 goals in 182 matches and also won one FA Cup and one EFL Cup.
During his career, he played for Paços de Ferreira, Atlético Madrid, Porto, Wolverhampton, and other clubs.
