Authorities urged residents of a large part of the nearby area to remain in their homes after the accident, due to thick smoke, ABC states. At least 11 people were injured, some sustaining “very severe” injuries, said Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, who said he believes the death toll will rise after the “catastrophic crash” of the plane.
According to UPS, there were three crew members on the plane, and the company stated it has not yet confirmed whether there are any injuries among the crew members. The “UofL Health” healthcare system announced it had received 10 patients, two of whom are in critical condition.
