Due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they committed the criminal offense of embezzlement in the conduct of business activities, seven persons employed at NIS have been arrested.
In the continuation of the anti-corruption action, members of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, UKP, Department for the Fight Against Corruption, in cooperation with the NIS Corporate Protection Sector, acting on the order of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade, Special Department for the Suppression of Corruption, arrested NIS employees J. I. (1991), V. M. (1986), K. L. (1994), P. M. (1990), S. D. (2001), R. S. (1979), and I.Đ. (1988), due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they committed the criminal offense of embezzlement in the conduct of business activities.

They are suspected of appropriating petroleum derivatives entrusted to them in their work by transferring them into a private van at a parking area located in the immediate vicinity of “Nikola Tesla” Airport, from a NIS tanker truck that was intended for the regular supply of aircraft at the airport, the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced.
The suspects have been detained for up to 48 hours, after which they will be brought to the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade along with a criminal complaint.
