The Serbian women’s national team won against Ukraine on Sunday, in Slana bara, with a score of 30:21 (14:8) in the final match of the qualifiers for the European Championship, so we will be watching our girls at that competition!
In the decisive duel for progress to the European Championship, the handball players of Serbia convincingly defeated their direct competitor, the selection of Ukraine, in Novi Sad.
Sandra Kolaković’s team dominated the field from the start, so they went to the break with a significant 14:8 lead. The question of the winner was never in doubt, and in the last ten minutes, Serbia further increased the pace and triumphed with a nine-goal difference.
The match was marked by Anđela Janjušević and Katarina Krpež-Šlezak with six goals each, while Krpež-Šlezak and Dragana Cvijić, who scored four goals, emotionally bid farewell to the national jersey in this match.
As a reminder, the European Championship is being held from December 3 to 20, 2026, in the Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, and Turkey.
