The Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petković, stated that the police of the temporary Pristina institutions raided the PIO Fund and RFZO in Kosovska Mitrovica and pointed out that this is an attack on the Serbian healthcare system.
“Kurti’s police raided the PIO Fund and RFZO in KM, extremely important RS institutions that provide services to a huge number of people. This is also an attack on the Serbian healthcare system!” Petković emphasized in a post on the X network.
He asked whether Kurti is starting his election campaign this way and delivering the final blow to the dialogue, and whether the EU will stop the pyromaniac.
According to the Euronews Serbia correspondent from KiM, municipal inspectors, with the support of the Kosovo police, have currently entered a building in the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica which houses the branch of the Republic of Serbia’s Pension and Disability Insurance Fund, as well as the branch of the Republic Health Insurance Fund for the Kosovska Mitrovica district.
They first removed two Serbian flags from the building, and as stated by the Deputy Director of the Kosovo Police for the Mitrovica – North region, Veton Elshani, a review of documents is underway. According to Euronews Serbia, employees are leaving their workplaces at the request of the inspectors.
Yesterday, the Pristina authorities, with the assistance of the so-called Kosovo police, took over the buildings of the Serbian Post in Gračanica and Štrpce.
RFZO: Raid on our branch directly endangers the provision of healthcare services
The Republic Health Insurance Fund (RFZO) announced that at 10:30 a.m., members of the so-called Kosovo police in civilian clothes raided the premises of the RFZO branch in Kosovska Mitrovica, took pictures of all the rooms, asked employees for their ID cards, searched their workspaces and personal belongings, and then asked them to leave the premises.
The statement emphasizes that the attack on the RFZO branch in Kosovska Mitrovica directly endangers the further provision of healthcare services to patients and other most vulnerable social categories, as well as to all our citizens in KiM.
“With this unlawful and violent action by Kurti’s police, Albin Kurti’s anti-Serb policy has been completely exposed, as he is now attacking the most sensitive institutions in KiM that provide services to thousands of users in KiM,” the statement said.
It added that the RFZO has never posed a threat to anyone, but has always been a pillar of providing healthcare services.
The RFZO emphasizes that such escalatory and unilateral moves by the temporary self-government institutions in Pristina also represent a violation of the Brussels agreements, especially those related to the formation of the Community of Serbian Municipalities and the functioning of the Serbian healthcare system.
“Our message to all employees of the RFZO branch in Kosovska Mitrovica is that the state of Serbia will continue to fully take care of them and that the RFZO will continue to regularly pay all employee salaries as before, and continue to provide healthcare services to citizens,” the statement emphasizes.
