The second day of the European Junior Championships (for athletes up to 20 years old) in Tampere, Finland has come to a close, and Serbia has a bronze medal. Luka Bošković earned it in the long jump.
The Serbian athlete achieved his best result in the second series, with a jump of 7.69m. He took the lead after the first series with 7.49m, fouled in the third and fourth, and his second-best jump was in the fifth—7.56m. In his final attempt, he fouled again.
The gold medal went to Czech athlete Petr Majndlšmid, who jumped 7.89m in the second series, while the silver medal was won by Italian Daniele Leonardo. Leonardo’s best result was identical to Bošković’s, but he surpassed him in the final series with a jump of 7.62m, securing the second position and leaving the Serbian athlete with the bronze.
Other “Little Eagles” Results
- Vuk Šolaja took last place, 21st, in the high jump qualifications, clearing 1.96m.
- Filip Stanković was eliminated in the semifinals of the 400-meter race, finishing in 16th place with a time of 47.71 seconds.
- Maša Rajić and Tara Vučković were eliminated in the 800-meter qualifications, finishing 18th (2:07.71) and 19th (2:08.23), respectively.
