SERBIA, UNITE: Humanitarian campaign launched for two survivors of the Novi Sad tragedy!

Teodora Martinko and Vukašin Crnčević, two survivors of the accident at the Novi Sad railway station, are still fighting for recovery. To provide them with the necessary support for long-term treatment and rehabilitation, a humanitarian fundraising campaign has been launched.

Goran Filipović from the Initiative for the Survival of Serbian Farmers, one of the initiators of the campaign, revealed to Nedeljnik that around 300,000 dinars have been collected so far across Serbia, while the village of Kisač, where Teodora comes from, has collected another 200,000 dinars.

“I’m not sure how much has been paid into Vukašin’s account. I also contacted Vukašin’s mother and grandmother, so we took their account number and people donated to both of them,” says Filipović.

As the Martinko family celebrated Christmas, the Initiative for the Survival of Serbian Farmers, students from the Faculty of Medicine in Novi Sad, which Teodora attends, as well as the residents of Kisač, prepared gifts for her one-year-old daughter.

“This morning I was with Teodora’s husband, we went to the bank to open a foreign currency account because many people from abroad wanted to donate and pay, but they couldn’t in dinars,” Filipović told Nedeljnik.

“This is a great opportunity to help during the holidays and giving, and those children will really need it, every dinar will help,” he adds.

According to him, Teodora is recovering well, she is conscious and her family often brings her food from home.

The Initiative for the Survival of Serbian Farmers is appealing to all farmers and good people to join the fundraising campaign for Teodora and Vukašin, heroes who survived the collapse of the canopy.
