Novi Sad students and citizen assemblies paid tribute today to the victims who perished on November 1, 2024, when a concrete canopy collapsed on them at the railway station in that city.
“Novi Sad remembers. But Novi Sad is not silent, and it never will be—until those responsible for their deaths are brought to justice,” students and assembly representatives stated.
During a sixteen-minute silence, citizens held papers in their hands bearing the names of the deceased. “16 victims, 14 months, zero responsible,” read one of the banners.
The intersection near the Railway Station was blocked during the tribute.
