A 42-year-old Belgrade resident frantically called the police on May 28th of this year, reporting that he had been assaulted on Kalemegdan.

He admitted that he had arranged to meet a girl via Facebook that evening. Instead of the young woman, he was met by a group of young men who attacked and beat him.

Unofficially, while they were hitting him, one of them allegedly asked, “Why did you come to meet a minor?”

In his statement to the police, the assaulted man claimed he did not know the girl was underage or much else about her, stating he “had never seen her in person, only corresponded with her.”

Unofficially, he was diagnosed with minor head injuries at the Military Medical Academy (VMA).

The police directed him to obtain a medical report and file a criminal complaint against an unknown person at the competent police station.

The relevant prosecutor’s office has also been informed about the case.
