The U.S. Embassy in Belgrade has issued a security alert for U.S. citizens ahead of tomorrow’s protest, which could gather hundreds of thousands of people in Belgrade, urging them to avoid crowds and places of mass gatherings.

“Large-scale protests are expected in Belgrade, with the total number of participants potentially reaching hundreds of thousands. The protests could spread across much of downtown Belgrade, particularly near government institutions and the headquarters of the public broadcaster RTS,” the embassy stated in a notice for U.S. citizens published on its website.

The statement also notes that Serbian police anticipate major crowds, traffic congestion, public service closures, and significant disruptions to essential services, including emergency medical assistance. Additionally, mobile network outages are possible, and the government warns that violence could occur.
