Luka Dončić, the Slovenian basketball sensation, has suffered an injury just before the start of the new NBA season, sidelining him for Dallas Mavericks for a while.
The Balkanese player sustained a left calf contusion, and according to initial reports, a new assessment of his condition will be conducted in a week.
Dallas has a series of preseason games coming up, with the first one scheduled for just six days from now against Memphis.
They will then face Utah, LA Clippers, and Milwaukee on October 18th. Dončić is likely to miss all these matches to avoid risking his health.
The official start of the season for Dallas is set for October 25th, when the Mavericks will play against San Antonio. Dončić is widely considered one of the top contenders for the MVP award, and it remains to be seen how this injury will impact his performance at the beginning of the season.
