Serbian basketball player Nikola Jović has spoken out about the incident that marked the match between Houston and Miami.

Miami defeated Houston 104-100 on the road, but the game was overshadowed by a fierce brawl that occurred in the final moments.

With about 30 seconds left in the game, Amen Thompson and Tyler Herro got into a confrontation. The Houston player grabbed Tyler by the throat and pushed him to the ground, causing a general melee on the court.

Nikola Jović was the first to come to his teammate’s aid, and then others joined in. Coaches and players from the bench rushed onto the court, creating a chaotic scene.

Once the situation finally calmed down, ejections followed. The referees sent the culprits – Thompson and Herro – to the locker room, and they were joined by Jaylen Green, coach Ime Udoka, and his assistant Ben Salivan from Houston, as well as Terry Rozier from Miami.

After a great game where he scored 18 points and hit the crucial three-pointer for the victory, Jović addressed the incident.

“All these guys, they’re like brothers to me. One thing I learned at home (in Serbia) is that family sticks together. We have to be close. I simply can’t allow someone to throw my ‘guy’ around,” said Nikola.
