Serbian center Nikola Jokić scored 48 points in a convincing victory of the Denver Nuggets over the Hawks 141-111 in a road game in Atlanta.

The home team played without the 32-year-old captain of the Serbian national team, Bogdan Bogdanović, due to, as the franchise stated, a contusion of the left thigh.

As for the 29-year-old from Sombor, he continued to shine – this time with 48 points (17/29 from the field, 3/6 for three) and 14 rebounds, and only two assists were missing for the Serbian ace to reach the 140th triple-double.

Less than 24 hours before visiting Georgia, he scored a record 56 points against the Washington Wizards, but the help of his teammates was missing to avoid a loss to the Eastern Conference’s last-placed team.

Jokić needed only 35 minutes on the court to extinguish the Hawks’ brilliant series of six consecutive victories, and he “treated” the home crowd with a half-court shot at the end of the first half.

It would be superfluous to talk about the course of the match, but it would be mild to say that the guests from Colorado dictated the pace from start to finish, and you can see Jokić’s most impressive moves below.

It is clear that the 211 cm tall magician does not intend to “let off the gas,” and he will have an opportunity to rest until Friday night, when the Clippers (12-10) arrive in Denver.

The Hawks will play the NBA Cup quarterfinals already from Wednesday to Thursday, when they visit the Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
