Denver is back to winning, barely scraping through games they should be settling in three quarters based on the names on the roster. But when things get tough, there is, of course—Nikola Jokić!
This time, the struggling Charlotte Hornets, with Vasilije Micić in the starting lineup, fell at home 107-104.
Another brilliant performance, another powerful triple-double from the Serbian national team star, who this time was without his best on-court partner of the season, his basketball soulmate, Russell Westbrook, who missed the game due to injury.
In that situation, Nikola had to take matters into his own hands, and he did so flawlessly, finishing with 28 points (9-17 shooting), 17 assists, 14 rebounds, and even 4 steals.
Helping him out were Christian Braun with 24 points and an impressive 11 assists, while Jamal Murray contributed 20 points and 5 assists.
On the losing side, Micić had an off night (0 points, 0-5 shooting), while the best performers for the home team were Miles Bridges with 24 points and 12 rebounds, and Mark Williams with 20 points and 15 rebounds.
In the next round, Denver returns home to host the Pelicans and remains firmly in 4th place in the Western Conference. Meanwhile, Charlotte is stuck in the second-to-last spot in the East with a 12-34 record and will face fellow struggler Washington in the next round.
