Although US President Donald Trump announced that a truce between Iran and Israel had come into effect, which both sides confirmed, Tel Aviv claims that Tehran subsequently fired two ballistic missiles that were shot down.
Israeli authorities claim that two ballistic missiles were fired from Iran at Israel after the ceasefire was supposed to come into effect, adding that both were intercepted.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz says he has ordered the Israeli defense forces to “respond strongly to Iran’s violation of the truce with intensive strikes on regime targets in the heart of Tehran.”
Iranian state television announced that Israel’s claims that two ballistic missiles were fired into its territory are untrue, Reuters reports.
