Branislav Milenković (24) was brutally beaten on November 21, 2025, in front of a supermarket on Makenzijeva Street, and after 85 days of fighting for his life, he passed away in the hospital.
The day of the family patron saint’s day in Vračar turned into a nightmare that lasted almost three months and ended in death.
Branislav’s father, Nenad Milenković, told Blic that it all started innocently. On that day, Aranđelovdan, Branislav went to the store with his friends.
“He called me to ask ‘Dad, did you cut the slava cake?’. After half an hour, his friend, with whom he went to the store, informed me that my son was in the Emergency Center and that they were fighting for his life,” Nenad said in a heartbreaking confession.
According to him, a short verbal argument occurred in front of the store with the suspect M. P., after which Branislav headed towards his friends.
“Branislav told him ‘Oh, come on’ and headed towards the friends who were waiting for him, and then this man hit him from behind in the head. He hit his head on the handrail and flipped over it,” recounted Nenad Milenković.
The young man fell from a height of about a meter and a half, and according to his father, in those moments his life was saved by a chance passerby, an anesthesiologist by profession, who intubated him on the spot.
After the attack, Branislav spent 85 days in the hospital, fighting for his life. At one point, the family hoped for a recovery.
“He was conscious. On February 18, we had a scheduled appointment at Sokobanjska Hospital, a rehabilitation center. Suddenly, the condition worsened. My son was skin and bones,” said Nenad.
Branislav Milenković passed away on February 14, leaving behind parents broken by pain.
“He was an exemplary child. Hardworking, responsible, he worked in construction, loved sports, company, and cars. He was our only son. Our patron saint’s day turned into an agony that ended tragically… I no longer have a meaning for life,” concluded Nenad Milenković for “Blic”.
As a reminder, Branislav was brutally attacked by M.P. in front of a market on Makenzijeva Street in November 2025, after a short verbal argument. Shortly after the incident, the police detained M.P., suspected of inflicting injuries, who confessed to the act but claimed that he acted exclusively in self-defense.
