Recent days have seen devastating floods in Bosnia and Herzegovina, claiming the lives of many, including a former footballer.
Football club Klis from Buturović Polje issued a statement confirming the tragic loss of their former player, 38-year-old Jasmin Čilić.
The FK Klis collective expresses condolences to all victims’ families, friends, and acquaintances in Buturović Polje, Jablanica, Kreševo, Kiseljak, and Fojnica. Among the casualties and missing persons in Buturović Polje are our long-time fans. At the same time, the floods in Jablanica claimed the life of former FK Klis footballer Jasmin Čilić – Žili. May the Bosnian earth rest lightly upon them!

According to local media reports, his lifeless body was found in the embrace of his wife, who also lost her life.
At least 20 people have perished in the floods that have hit Bosnia and Herzegovina.
As a reminder, the floods have affected the areas of Jablanica, Konjic, Kiseljak, Kreševo, and Fojnica, leading to days of mourning and the postponement of all sporting events in the country.
A three-day mourning period is in effect in Jablanica.
