The President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, stated today that he is sure that the independence of Republika Srpska will prevail by political means.
Dodik stated that there is a concept that is trying to disempower Republika Srpska and centralize BiH and that all the events that have been taking place lately are related to that.
Emphasizing that there is nothing to the threats from Sarajevo that are trying to impose something, Dodik said that all unresolved issues will be resolved by political means because, as he stated, “he is not a man who would mobilize people to go to war,” Srna reports.
“Republika Srpska is very peaceful and continues to move forward in peace and development. Some asked what will happen tomorrow, it will be a day like any other, a day of peace. Republika Srpska is not asking for any escalation of problems, it is only asking for what belongs to it by the Dayton Agreement to manage certain sectors,” Dodik told reporters in Zvornik.

He emphasized that he did not allow Republika Srpska to lose its property, police and other constitutionally provided resources and therefore, according to the opinion and mentality of some, he must be held accountable.
According to him, the previous policy of the West was dramatically against Republika Srpska, but the situation has significantly changed, which, as he assessed, is visible on the ground.
He reiterated that Republika Srpska has never had more friends who are ready to work with it, and among them he mentioned Russia, Hungary, China, Azerbaijan, Serbia, but also a significant part of the ruling establishment in the United States of America.
“My primary duty is to ensure equality in BiH, such as we ensure for our fellow citizens Bosniaks, Croats and other peoples in Republika Srpska,” Dodik said and emphasized that Srpska must be respected as written in Dayton.
