The leader of the ruling coalition in Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, has arrived in the American state of Illinois, where he is scheduled to receive an award “for leadership and defense of democracy” at Judson University tonight.
Dodik posted a photo from Chicago on X, in which he is, among others, accompanied by his wife Snježana, American businessman of Serbian origin Rod Blagojevich, advisor Ana Trišić-Babić, and the Consul General of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) in Chicago, Tatjana Telić.
“Again in Chicago and the USA. Chicago has changed since our last meeting, but what pleases me most is the progress of our people, because Serbs here today are more organized, more connected, and more confident in their strength than ever before,” Dodik wrote alongside the photo.

He stated that he began his visit to Chicago with a conversation with friends and associates, “in an atmosphere that fits the fact that they are in one of the largest Serbian cities outside the homeland – at the dining table.”
Dodik, the leader of the ruling Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD), added that important meetings, conversations, and addresses await him in the USA, as well as the award ceremony at Judson University in the city of Elgin, about 55 kilometers from Chicago.
