Laslo Đere, the Serbian tennis player, won the title at the tournament, more precisely the challenger, in Oeiras, Portugal, and thus once again confirmed that he manages best on clay.
In the final, he defeated Emilio Nava from the United States of America 2:0, in sets 6:3, 6:4.
The match lasted one hour and 19 minutes, and Đere, as the 279th tennis player in the world, brought down the 108th on the ATP list.
In the first set, the second game was decisive, in which Đere made a break and sovereignly kept that advantage.
The second set was somewhat more interesting, as Nava made a break for 1:3, but then Đere struck back for 3:4. The Serb equalized with a game to love, and then once again took away his rival’s serve and brought the fight for the title to an end without any problems.
It has been a long time since Đere looked this good at a tournament, and it is interesting that he came from the qualifiers. This means that he overcame seven obstacles in Portugal and reached the trophy.
This is the first title for Đere after more than a year, since at the beginning of March 2025, he was the best at the ATP tournament in Santiago (Chile).
