The best national team game of all time. LeBron James and Steph Curry said that the last quarter against Serbia in the semifinals of the 2024 Olympic Games was an example of perfect basketball.

The United States entered the final stretch of the game with a huge 13-point deficit, while Serbia had played almost flawlessly until that moment. However, that was when the turning point came and the Americans staged a spectacular comeback.

“I panicked! At the end of the third, when Gudurić… I started looking at the clock because the games were really fast! And then KD hit a three, then Booker, and everything changed…,” Curry recalled on the “Mind the Game” podcast, where he was a guest with LeBron James and Steve Nash.

He continued in the same tone:

“Serbia played insanely well. I missed the first three, we grabbed an offensive rebound and then I hit it. That’s when the energy started to shift, I felt I could start knocking them down…”.

In the final ten minutes, Curry scored nine points, Kevin Durant added seven, and Joel Embiid another seven, allowing the U.S. team to completely turn the game around.

“The best ten minutes ever,” Curry concluded.

He later further explained what he meant:
“Ten minutes of perfect basketball. They had a bunch of offensive rebounds, we couldn’t get a defensive one, but everything else on both ends of the floor was perfect. Everyone had their moment, everyone played hard, and it was clear we needed literally everything to pull it off. Serbia played a 5+ game. 5+.”

LeBron James then took the floor:

“We were perfect! They still have no idea how the hell they lost that game! I’m sure of it,” said the “King.”

At the end of the tournament, the USA won gold, and Curry once again confirmed his status as the best shooter in history in the final against France by burying the basket with a series of three-pointers in the closing minutes.
