Based on 100 percent of the established results of the early elections for the President of Republika Srpska, the SNSD candidate Siniša Karan won 222,182 votes, or 50.39 percent, and the SDS candidate Branko Blanuša won 212,605 votes, or 48.22 percent.

Siniša Karan increased his lead to 9,577 votes over Branko Blanuša, RTRS reports.

The candidate of the Alliance for a New Policy, Dragan Đokanović, won 2,018, or 0.46 percent of the votes.

Nikola Lazarević from the Ecological Party of Republika Srpska won 1,698 votes or 0.39 percent, independent candidate Igor Gašević 1,353 or 0.31 percent, while independent candidate Slavko Dragičević won 1,066 votes or 0.24 percent.

According to CIK data, out of 1,264,366 registered voters, 449,376 voters, or 35.54 percent, exercised their right to vote in the elections.

There were 440,922 valid ballots, or 98.12 percent, 850 blank ballots, or 0.19 percent, while invalid ballots according to other criteria amounted to 7,604, or 1.69 percent.

Earlier today, CIK adopted a decision on determining and publishing the results of the early elections, and after the adoption of this decision, a request for recounting of ballots can be submitted within 72 hours from the day of the publication of the results, as well as an objection to the accuracy of the published results within 24 hours.

This decision is not final and a process of submitting appeals will likely follow.

In addition, an order was issued for the recounting of ballots from polling stations in Laktaši (16 polling stations), Doboj (20), Zvornik (18), Bratunac (1), Gacko (1) and Bileća (1).

The recount will be done according to the dynamics determined by the counting center, CIK stated, Tanjug reports.
