Police in Leposavić detained Milivoje Bojić for an informative interview, due to a report by the Albanian Emran Gušani, to whom the new local administration in that town allocated the apartment where Bojić lives with his family.
The apartment was allocated to the Bojić family last year by the Commissariat for Refugees of the Government of Serbia, but now Gušani is demanding it, with the support of the local Albanian administration, headed by the Albanian Ljuljzim Hetemi.
The Bojićs were given an official deadline of ten days to leave the apartment, despite the fact that they have been living in it for a year and that, upon receiving the keys, they completely furnished the space.
The daughter of the detained man, Ivana Bojić, stated that two appeals were submitted to the competent institutions, but they have not yet received answers.
“We are completely confused and don’t know what to do. We submitted two appeals to the competent institutions, but so far we haven’t received any answer. Despite that, the apartment was allocated to another person, and that is why my father was at an informative interview today. They gave us a deadline of ten days to move out. We don’t even know where we will go, and winter is at the door — it’s already cold and snow is forecasted. I really don’t know what more to say,” Ivana Bojić, the daughter of the detained Milivoje Bojić, told the media.
The order for the eviction of the Bojić family from the newly built apartments in Leposavić is not the first case of its kind — the new local authorities in Leposavić had previously attempted to evict certain Serbian families from the apartments built in that town by the Government of the Republic of Serbia, through the Office for Kosovo and Metohija.
