A councilor of Serbian Democracy in the municipality of Leposavić, Vladimir Radosavljević, was stopped last night at Jarinje while he was returning to Kosovo from the student gathering in Kraljevo. He is still there. He told N1 that the Kosovo police officers told him they had initiated proceedings against him because they found Serbian flags in his vehicle and told him that he could not enter Kosovo.

“I could not go to my home. I live in Leposavić and they did not let me cross Jarinje because of those mentioned flags. The flags were in my personal luggage. Meaning, they searched my car, that was on the way back from the rally in Kraljevo. The Kosovo police searched me, they found the flags, they immediately became rough. In Albanian, they told me that I must go back and leave Kosovo,” Radosavljević states.

He conveys that in the conversation with the police officers, he insisted that he is a citizen of Kosovo.

“I live in Kosovo and I have nowhere else to go. They were not interested in that and insisted that I leave Kosovo. After that, I came again on foot to, to ask what the problem was. They said that proceedings are being conducted against me and that I must leave Kosovo, that I cannot pass,” he says and adds:

“The Kosovo police stated to me, four, five of them, they all speak Albanian, and I do not speak it… One was translating very poorly, very textually, meaning they only told me: ‘We are initiating proceedings against you, you must leave Kosovo, you cannot enter’. At my insistence that I live there, no, they did not want to hear it, they were quite rough, even the one who was talking, who, who was the roughest, and was the shift leader, had an automatic weapon behind him, so believe me I did not feel comfortable at all, I did not want to stay there to talk, I simply went back.”

Radosavljević conveys that he is now waiting for someone from the international missions to see why he cannot go home and to see what the problem is and how it is possible that proceedings have been initiated against him just because of Serbian flags.

He turned to EULEX and KFOR, but he says it is an absurdity that the people from those missions with whom he spoke do not speak English.

Still, he now expects someone from them to come to cross the checkpoint with him, so that he is not arrested without reason.

“I really do not know what happened and whether the flags of Serbia are a reason to forbid someone from returning home… That is why I am waiting for someone from the international missions, or at least from the media, to be with me when I cross the Jarinje checkpoint. Everything of mine is in Leposavić. My family lives in Leposavić, I am from Leposavić, my apartment is there, literally my whole life is there,” he emphasized.

As a reminder, a gathering under the slogan “Everything is seen on Vidovdan” organized by students in blockade was held yesterday in Kraljevo, which was also attended by Vladimir Radosavljević.
