The San Antonio Spurs defeated the Wizards 124:113 with a versatile performance by Fox, but the star of the evening was certainly Serbian national team player Tristan Vukčević, who played a very good game for Washington, and also performed a move that the NBA is buzzing about tonight. And it will buzz, by God, for the next ones as well…
Tristan blocked the man who usually blocks everyone else, the nightmare of the NBA paint, Frenchman Victor Wembanyama, who, well, lived to be put on a poster.
Otherwise, Vukčević was a member of the starting five and ended up with 18 points (8/19 from the field, 2/9 for three) along with nine rebounds and as many as four blocks. More points than him for the hosts were given by Tre Johnson (19) and Bub Carrington (21).
In the first quarter, Washington was better in the details and finished that part of the game in the lead (28:26). However, thanks to an incredible second quarter which they won 43:21, the Spurs took control and gained a convincing 20-point lead (69:49), which they successfully maintained until the end of the match, despite the Wizards’ attempts to come back.
Thus, Washington remained nailed to the bottom of the Eastern Conference and now has a 5–22 record, while the Spurs remained right behind the undefeated Thunder in the West with a 21–7 performance.
The night was marked by Jalen Brunson from New York with 47 points in the victory against the Miami Heat (132:125), for whom our Jović did not play due to injury.
