We know that we have smart and super-talented children who surprise us every now and then with medals won at competitions around the world, in various scientific, artistic, and sports fields. But did you know that one of our eleven-year-olds from faraway New York received recognition from a place associated with one of the greatest minds on the planet, who is “one of our own”?

We are talking about the boy Andrija Ninković, who on January 11th at the “New Yorker” hotel in Manhattan was awarded the prestigious Super Talent Award, as part of the 13th International Conference on the Life and Work of Nikola Tesla, organized by the TESLA Science Foundation.

Our child prodigy appeared on the video beam and disarmed the audience with his sincerity and charisma.

“I’m Andrija, I go to the “Desanka Maksimović” Elementary School, my favorite sport is judo, and in my free time I like to spend time with my mom…” Andrija began his address at the Tesla conference.

In continuation, Andrija mentioned the impressive projects he worked on and whose inventor he is, and he won the prestigious award for super talents by programming and patenting the popular “Scratch” game. So, the young genius excels in sports and “gaming”.

Incidentally, this event paid tribute to all people around the world who have been selflessly working to preserve the legacy of this extraordinary scientist over the past year.

The “In the Spirit of Tesla” awards were given to individuals and organizations at several levels. A special charm to this event was also given by the live broadcast on the YouTube channel TeslaTalk.TV, which allowed viewers around the world to participate, while all the material after the conference can be viewed on the official website TeslaScienceFoundation.com.

Nikola Lončar, founder and president of the Tesla Science Foundation, said on that occasion that he is particularly pleased that young and professional people have joined the Tesla Science Foundation, who, with their enthusiasm and knowledge, are taking over the organization of events. As he pointed out, one of the key goals of the Foundation in the future will be to raise the project of Nikola Tesla Clubs and cultural diplomacy through these clubs to the highest level.

This is, he points out, a way in which the Foundation wants to keep Serbian youth in the community, to be proud of their origin and people, while at the same time presenting the world with the true values of Serbian culture.

Lončar adds that Tesla is a symbol and icon of the Serbian people, especially for people in the diaspora, and that his contribution to humanity is invaluable, because there is no part of the world where Tesla’s inventions and science have not helped people.
