The marriage of Ana Ivanović and Bastian Schweinsteiger seemed idyllic, and then we were all left in silent shock when they announced they were getting divorced. Since then, all the world’s media have been trying to figure out the reason and are finding it in the German football player’s affair with an attractive Bulgarian woman.
According to German media, our tennis player was ready to forgive the betrayal for the sake of the family – but her good will, it seems, was not enough.
The magazine “BUNTE” reported that Ana Ivanović wanted to get over the affair of her, now former, husband – but Bastian obviously did not want to return to the family. Instead of remorse, he showed, according to the German newspaper, immaturity and callousness, saying that he “wants to live freely.” The celebrated tennis player then cut ties – for good.
For more than ten years, the life of football star Bastian Schweinsteiger (41) and tennis champion Ana Ivanović (37) seemed like a true fairy tale. He – the German football hero who brought the World Champion title in 2014, she – the Serbian tennis queen who charmed the planet, won the French Open, and was the best player in the world.
They were the dream couple of world sports, united by common ambitions, passion, and love. Their modesty and likable character won over not only fans but also numerous business partners.
After their fairytale wedding in Venice in 2016, in the following years, their happiness was completed by three sons – Luka, Leon, and Teo. They never ostentatiously displayed their family idyll, but proudly and warmly lived it in their chosen place – in a villa in Mallorca. At first glance, they seemed like a perfect match in every sense.
The end of the fairy tale
Since the beginning of June, Bastian has started to publicly appear with a new partner – a native Bulgarian, who also lives in Mallorca.
This move caused disbelief and shock, because, according to information from the “BUNTE” magazine from the Schweinsteiger family circle, Ana was ready to forgive him after learning about the affair. He, however, clearly said that he wanted his freedom and that he did not intend to return to family life. Only then did Ana draw the final line and publicly announce the end of the marriage.
“Why is Bastian giving up on happiness?”
The question that many are asking – friends, acquaintances, and the public – is: why does Bastian Schweinsteiger want to give up this great happiness? Because, only a few years ago, he spoke completely differently about Ana and their love.
At a book promotion in 2022, he said: “As a young boy, you often say too easily: I love you. But those are big words. I learned from Ana what love really means.”
Words that today sound as if they come from a completely different world.
