The Jović married couple was attacked by three Albanians in the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica, and one of the attackers was arrested, announced the president of Serbian Democracy, Aleksandar Arsenijević.
The president of Serbian Democracy, Aleksandar Arsenović, said that the Jović married couple, while passing through “Lole Ribara” street, noticed men from a white “Passat” making sexist comments to two girls. The married couple then stopped their car and drew the attackers’ attention, demanding that they stop such behavior.
“Tonight, there was a serious attack by three Albanians on the Jović married couple in the very center of North Mitrovica. While they were passing through Lole Ribara Street, towards the Prince Lazar monument, near the ‘Laketić’ pharmacy, they noticed individuals from a white ‘Passat’ with license plates RKS 02-458-GJ making sexist comments to two girls. The Jović married couple stopped their car in front of them and drew their attention not to do that,” stated Arsenijević.
After that, young men of Albanian nationality began to threaten them and then chased them with their car.

“When the Jovićs, seeing a police patrol, got out of their vehicle to report the threats and harassment, one of the attackers punched Mr. Jović, in front of the police and his wife. The attacker was then arrested,” said Arsenijević.
He emphasized that this is “just one in a series of cases in which maniacs have sexually harassed Serbian girls in the last year.”
“If the police and the prosecutor’s office are not able to deal with such behavior – or, even worse, are accomplices in it together with the entire repressive apparatus – the Serbian population will be forced to self-organize, introduce neighborhood watches, and defend themselves,” Arsenijević said.
He called for an urgent and decisive reaction from the international community, which, he says, is already well acquainted with such cases.
