Jovan Jurišić claims that he was brutally attacked on Monday afternoon in his village of Bešenovo, just a few hundred meters from his family home, after previously being one of the organizers of the agricultural blockades.
As he says, the attack lasted several minutes, and he sustained injuries to his neck, arm, and knee, which is why he now wears a fixed collar. Everything, according to him, happened around 4:30 p.m.
“I set out from the family house via the bypass around the village. At about 500 meters from the house, a tractor cut off my path. He shouted to me: ‘Now I’m going to block you for a bit,'” says Jovan Jurišić.
He states that he got out of the car to see what it was about, but that the situation soon escalated.
“I was the organizer of the agricultural blockades on Saturday. He got off the tractor, took out a baseball bat and brass knuckles, and started beating me. I received multiple blows to the knee, arm, and neck. I have bruises on my back, all over my body, and several hematomas,” he states.
During the attack, as he claims, the attacker shouted: “You should all be killed.”
According to his words, three men were present during the attack, but one beat him.
“I know them, they are people from the village. They are supporters of the SNS. They were arrested yesterday but were released after a few hours. I don’t know what is happening further. The MUP is not making any announcements and we know nothing,” he says.
Although, as he states, he managed to call the police and drive himself at first, the consequences were soon felt.
“At that moment, I was able to drive myself, but when the adrenaline subsided, I couldn’t drive anymore. Everything hurts. I have a severe neck injury, I’m wearing a fixed collar and an additional auxiliary one, one over the other. I must not move my neck,” he says.
The attack, according to him, lasted between five and ten minutes, until other drivers came along and noticed the blockade.
“They stopped, got out of the car, and pulled me away from him. They moved him away. He didn’t run away. He stayed at the scene. That’s where the police found him and found those items on him,” he states, Jovan Jurišić tells.
As he states, he sent the documentation to the prosecutor’s office and expects the prosecutor’s office to make a decision on the criminal complaint.
