Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei (86), was killed on Saturday in an Israeli-American attack on Tehran, the Iranian regime confirmed, several hours after it was announced by U.S. President Donald Trump and Israeli authorities.

Namely, according to information from American sources, Israel and the U.S. timed the attack on Iran to coincide with a summit meeting between Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and his aides, two American sources familiar with the implementation of the operation state.

The killing of the man who ruled Iran for nearly 40 years, and who was also recognized as the religious leader of all Shiite Muslims on the planet, was confirmed overnight on Iranian state television.

Israel announced that, in addition to the ayatollah, former Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani and the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Mohammad Pakpour were killed.

Two Iranian sources told Reuters that Khamenei, shortly before the start of the attack on Saturday, convened a meeting at a secure location attended by Shamkhani and the current Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani.

The Iranian Supreme Leader was killed after intelligence services discovered his movements, U.S. President Donald Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

“He could do nothing against our intelligence and highly sophisticated tracking systems. We worked closely with Israel, neither he nor the other leaders who were killed with him could do anything,” Trump said.

Iranian Revolutionary Guard: We Will Avenge Khamenei’s Death!

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) has vowed to avenge the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. “The killers of the nation’s imam will not escape severe, decisive and terrifying punishment,” the Guard said in a statement on Sunday, carried by the Lebanese pro-Iranian militia Hezbollah.
