The student gathering “Sretnimo se ponovo” began in Kragujevac in the morning hours, and at 11:52 a.m. a sixteen-minute silence was held for the 16 victims who died in the collapse of the canopy at the Novi Sad Railway Station.
Those gathered placed 16 chairs at the intersection between the Zastava high-rise and the bridge over the Lepenica, with papers bearing the names of the people who were killed in Novi Sad on November 1, 2024, attached to them, and a single white rose on each chair.
The students announced that the first part of the program in Kragujevac would be dedicated to “constitutional Serbia and the Sretenje Constitution – a symbol of the struggle for freedom and statehood,” adopted in that city.
After the conclusion of that part, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., a gathering of a vehicle convoy and departure toward Orašac is planned in the Kragujevac neighborhood of Šumski raj, where the second, final part of the gathering will be organized.
The drive toward Orašac is planned from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., where in front of the Elementary School “Prvi srpski ustanak” that part of the gathering will be held.
The program in Orašac dedicated to the “people’s uprising and insurgent Serbia” will begin at 6 p.m., while the end of the gathering has been announced for 8 p.m.
In Orašac today, the central state ceremony marking Serbia’s Statehood Day – Sretenje was also held, led by Prime Minister Đuro Macut.
