FIRE AND SHOOTING IN ĆACILEND: Chaos in the tent settlement in front of the Parliament of Serbia, Vučić announced an address!

A fire broke out, and shooting was also heard, in the tent settlement in front of the Parliament of Serbia, better known as Ćacilend. One person was injured, one was arrested, and President Aleksandar Vučić announced an extraordinary address.

According to unofficial information, the shooting occurred in one of the tents when one person fired several shots at another, hitting them in the leg.

The person injured in the shooting was transferred to the Emergency Center, and the police detained the attacker, Danas unofficially learns.

A Danas reporter reports that smoke is still billowing from some tents, and a large number of police officers are securing the area around Pionirski Park, as well as the Parliament of Serbia, which cannot be approached. Among them are members of the Special Anti-Terrorist Unit (SAJ).

“If there were no circus, there would be no problem,” one passerby told us, commenting on the scene and what was happening. A large number of citizens are also gathering and taking photos.

Vučić: The attack in front of the Parliament of Serbia is a terrorist act

The President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, today called the incident in front of the parliament in the center of Belgrade a terrorist act, in which one man was wounded and another was arrested for attacking the tent settlement of government supporters.

At the ceremony on the occasion of signing the contract for the allocation of funds for the purchase of rural houses, Vučić said that he would have to leave the gathering due to a “terrorist act in front of the Parliament of Serbia” and added that he would have to “deal with some other things during today.”

The video of the fire was initially published by Dobrica Veselinović, a councilor of the Green-Left Front, on his X account. Veselinović briefly told our portal that the central part was on fire, but he did not know more details.

As we learn in the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP), the fire was reported at 10:17 a.m. and has been localized. There is no danger of further spreading. The police could not yet tell us whether anyone was detained or arrested.

As announced by the President’s office, after this event, Aleksandar Vučić will address the public extraordinarily at 1 p.m. in the Palace of Serbia.

As RTS previously reported, the cause of the fire was a gas bottle. Emergency Medical Institute teams also went to the scene, and as the RTS reporter states, one person was treated.

On the other hand, the vice-president of the SSP, Marinika Tepić, claims that shots were heard in Ćacilend and attached a video on social networks which, according to her claims, proves this.

The Democratic Party announced on its X account that, according to unofficial information, there are injured people, and that the police directed those present to lie on the ground, which indicates that arrests also took place.

The Freedom and Justice Party also shared a video of Ćacilend in flames on its Instagram account.
