The referendum regarding the verdict of the BiH Court and the decision of the CIK to take away the mandate of the President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik will be held on October 18 or 25, it was decided at the meeting of the ruling coalition.

The exact date of the referendum will be included in the Decision on the calling of the referendum, which will be discussed at the session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska on Friday, RTRS reports.

As it is stated, that date leaves enough time for the changes to the Law on Referendum and Citizens’ Initiative, as well as the Decision on the Referendum to pass all levels of decision-making – the parliament, the Council of Peoples, and the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Srpska in the event of a vital national interest issue being raised.

On Monday, the BiH Court rejected Milorad Dodik’s appeal against the decision of the Central Election Commission of BiH to take away the mandate of the President of the RS, calling it “unfounded.”
