The carrier Milomir Jaćimović was attacked yesterday in the yard of his house in Đurđevo, in the middle of the day around 4 p.m., the attacker, Aleksandar Šulc from Novi Sad, entered his yard holding a can of beer, an incident occurred when Šulc hit Jaćimović, and then ran away. The carrier, who has become one of the symbols of the protest due to his support and transport of students and war veterans, describes what happened.
“I expect everything from them, but I didn’t expect this. To enter my yard and attack me in broad daylight, in my yard, on my doorstep. They entered to provoke me, to arrest me, but they will not succeed. But, that impudence, that audacity…. I was lying in the house, when some people entered the yard. I went out and realized what it was about. I recognized that one from Novi Sad, and later people reported to me who it was, that it was that Aleksandar Šulc from Novi Sad. They filmed with a mobile phone, they tried to provoke me. That Šulc was holding a can of beer in his hand, I think it was “Ožujsko”, and he’s like some kind of patriot. He swung and hit me, whether with his hand or a can, my tooth was broken. Then they ran away and got into the car, and I, with my neighbors, followed them. We caught up with them, surrounded them and called the police,” Milomir Jaćimović describes the incident.
According to him, the police arrived quickly, in five or six minutes. Šulc and his team were taken to Žabalj.
“The police were probably somewhere nearby, in the village, that’s why they came quickly, which is good. We didn’t want incidents, but they went for it. To challenge me, then to arrest me, even though they entered my yard. With Šulcom in company there was some guy, on social networks they write that he is some kind of drug dealer, I don’t know the man. He was the first to run to the car. Later, they informed me that a report was broadcast on TV Pink about how my buses are worth 300,000 euros. First of all, those are not my buses, but the people’s. On one it says students and a red hand, on the other it says students, people and a red hand. To know who the owners are. When my buses were destroyed, the people started a relief action and a really huge amount of money was collected. I haven’t even spent everything, every dinar is known where it is. More than 41 million dinars were paid to me from Serbia, and when converted from America, a little more than 90,000 euros. I haven’t spent everything, it’s left in the account, and I’m not touching that surplus. I keep it when the campaign starts, to help students,” explains Jaćimović.
By the way, he spent the night before that in court, because he was arrested for alleged threats made to a journalist of a pro-regime television station.
“That man, some Vladimir, told the police that he read from my lips that I said: ‘You scumbag, I’ll kill you!’. Of course I didn’t do that. I spent the whole night in the prosecutor’s office, and then the next day that Šulc comes, the news is published on Pink. This is a continuation of the campaign, but it will not intimidate me and I will not stop. They arrested me, took my buses, broke them, punctured my tires, threatened me. Now they have entered my yard as well. However, I will not give up the fight. And when all this is over, I will return the money that was paid to me to the people. When I earn money, I will give it to the kindergarten, to the hospital, for whatever is needed, just for this evil to pass,” explains the carrier Milomir Jaćimović.
