The on-duty public prosecutor of the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office (VJT) in Belgrade is conducting an inspection at the scene where eight residents of a nursing home in Barajevo died in a fire last night, said Nenad Stefanović, the chief public prosecutor of the VJT in Belgrade.
He added that there is reason to suspect that the fire was set by one of the residents of the home, who also perished.
“An autopsy of the fire victims has been ordered, and all the circumstances of this case are being determined, after which the VJT in Belgrade will decide on further steps,” Stefanović said.
