“This is the least we can do to help the injured in this terrible tragedy, we sympathize with them and their families and we want them to recover as soon as possible and that there are no more victims,” said a woman in front of the Center. She added that any of us could have been in that place because thousands of people pass through there every day.

“We are deeply saddened by this tragedy… Since yesterday we have been speechless and are trying to do everything we can to help. Many people responded to the urgent appeal and I am proud of so many people who came today to help the injured,” said a man waiting in line to donate blood.

The working hours of the Vojvodina Blood Transfusion Center are every working day from 7 am to 7 pm, and the first Saturday from 8 am to 12 pm.

Novi Sad Tragedy Fourteen people officially died in the collapse of the Novi Sad Railway Station canopy, and as reported to Nova.rs from the Vojvodina Clinical Center, three admitted patients are in critical condition. Part of the station collapsed yesterday, shortly before 12 noon.

The rescue operation lasted until late last night. Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Goran Vesic said today that an investigation is underway into why the Novi Sad Railway Station canopy was not subject to reconstruction and that the investigation will show who is responsible for the accident.

The morning after the canopy collapsed, there is a deathly silence among the residents and they can hardly utter a word after the terrible tragedy from which they cannot recover.
