ZLATNO NASLEĐE: Šta su Rimljani ostavili iza sebe u Srbiji! (FOTO)

Rimsko carstvo bilo je prva supersila u istoriji. Na vrhuncu moći, protezalo se od Britanije na severu, do Sahare na jugu, od Iberije na zapadu, do Mesopotamije na istoku. Današnja teritorija Srbije, dakle, nalazila se maltene u središtu imperije – na pola puta između Rima i Konstantinopolja.

Zbog strateški važnog položaja i povoljne klime, balkansko poluostrvo bilo je izuzetno važno za Rim, što dokazuje i činjenica da je na teritoriji naše zemlje rođeno čak 17 rimskih careva, a u doba Tetrarhije, odnosno vladavine četiri cara, jedna od prestonica carstva, nalazila se u Sirmijumu, današnjoj Sremskoj Mitrovici.

Zbog brojnih impresivnih građevina koje su Rimljani ostavili na ovim prostorima, relativno mala pažnja posvećuje se “manjim” artefaktima koje su nekadašnji “vladari sveta” ostavili iza sebe.

Ipak, ovaj deo kulturnog nasleđa ne samo da fascinira svojom lepotom i dopadljivošću, već je i izuzetno važan ukoliko želimo da rekonstruišemo kako je život zaista izgledao u ovo drevno doba.
