The tennis tournament in Athens has come and gone, Novak Djokovic won, but that is not the end of his interest in the Greek capital. According to information from local media, the greatest tennis player of all time is getting closer to making a major investment in the country.
According to Greek outlet “Tennis 24,” “new information about a major investment tennis project in Ellinikon shows that the scales are now clearly tipping in Djokovic’s favor. It concerns an ultra-modern club planned in the coastal zone. The project is worth more than 20 million euros, with over 20 tennis courts, as well as padel and pickleball courts, and a complete sports complex.”
Ellinikon is located in the south of Athens, right next to Glyfada. The Greek journalist further explains:
“This complex was under the microscope of some top names in world tennis, with the names of Patrick Mouratoglou, Novak Djokovic, and even the Sakkari family often mentioned,” the Greek portal explains.
“However, according to the latest information, negotiations with Lamda Development seem to be progressing more decisively toward Djokovic’s side. He has already permanently settled in our country and has maintained contacts both at the governmental level and with representatives of the sports market.
If all this is confirmed, the new center in Ellinikon will be the first major project of the Serbian legend in Greece, at a time when Djokovic is expanding his presence both on and off the court on our soil,” the portal adds.
